Looking for a camper trailer showroom in Adelaide with a difference? Then check out ‘The Dirt Off Road Campers.
As a specialist off road retailer, the crew at The Dirt can help guide you with your purchase decision. Campers include Pioneer, Rhinomax, Stockman Products, Backtrax, 3 Dog Camping and more.
Owners Mike and Anita Pavey are well-travelled camping enthusiasts. They’ve racked up thousands of dusty kilometres writing for popular camping and 4×4 publications. Back in 2011/12 they did the Big Lap, clocking up over 60,000km during the 13 month sabbatical. And with their showroom tastefully decorated with massive wall prints from their adventures, it’s easy to get inspired about your own travel ideas.
In 2015 ‘The Dirt was awarded the ‘Number 1 Pod Trailer Dealer’ in Australia for their service in South Australia. In 2016 they picked up the first Rhinomax Campers dealership and earlier this year, they added Pioneer Campers. “We believe in customer service for life” said Mike. “In addition to sales and support, we offer servicing, repairs and warranty work in house, with all work satisfaction guaranteed.”
In the Shed
At The Dirt Off Road Campers, our vehicles cross many boundaries in their capacity as both promotional and touring vehicles. In one corner is a 2005 Nissan Patrol wagon, powered by the venerable 4.2L turbo diesel engine. It has seen considerable upgrades over the years covering bar work, long range tanks, touring seats, storage, suspension, performance, brake upgrades and electrics. For heavier towing requirements or exploring high clearance off road destinations, the Patrol is the pick.
In the other corner is a 2015 Subaru XV 2.0-S, recently purchased from Murray Bridge Subaru. It’s the new kid on the block with all the recent techno additions such as a CVT auto transmission, 7 airbags, impressive comforts and economy. It also adds all-paw traction, 220mm clearance and compact proportions to extend its capabilities, particularly when exploring unsealed terrain paired with one of our light-weight Pod Campers. It’s just as happy motoring along the highway as it is weaving through a sea of red gums along the Murray, looking for that ideal camping spot.
